The House

// ….So this is what happens when Team Shenanigans gets split up across state lines while doing cosplay things. We literally spend the day sending each other videos via text message and making an ad-libbed minisode (which I tried to merge into one video for your convenience). I swear we’re just going to start making Vines or Instagram videos (we have the collaborative accounts made), but considering Doctors are involved, it’ll take a little while to get down the brevity aspect. ;)

When we get bored, we text videos back and forth to each other.

And, for some reason, GEEZBO.

Happy Monday! All… many more of you, so, hi new followers! You have joined this crazy wagon at a really exciting time, especially if you’re here for the Doctor Who - because I’m about to start working on a Shetland Tweed for my Doctor with the screen-accurate tweed fabric.

So, uh, be prepared for excitement and crying, since it needs to be done for Long Island Who in November! At which, (drum roll? da da da daaaaa) I’m going to be one of the judges for the Costume Cavalcade on Saturday evening!

If you are attending, we should hang out! I’m going to be at the Costume Cavalcade, as well as at the Legacy Panel (the Torchwood/Who crossover webseries that filmed in my house and also that I am in), as well as on a few other panels - and late Saturday night at a certain unofficial meet up for a certain fantastic show that airs right after Doctor Who usually (coughclonescough).

I’m also thinking of having an Entirely Unofficial Whovian Feminists Drinking And Dismantling Canon And Feeling Feelings evening in the hotel bar on Friday night.  (…. regardless, I will probably be in the shady corner that passes for a bar in the hotel on Friday night, and potentially stampeding around the hotel like a complete idiot all of Friday, because we will be in Ronkonkoma ALL DAY and the con doesn’t start until 5pm….)

I was wondering if you can help me find a dreadlock clip for Cosima. I can't find to my liking on eBay. Also, any good alts for her red peplum Zara dress?

I poked around on ebay pretty quickly and came up with this, but I’m not sure if that or similar things are what you’re looking for? I poked around Etsy for dread falls too, but they very quickly run very pricy. To be honest, I think it’d probably be cheaper to make your own, and you can control the size/quantity of the dreads - I grabbed a short/curly clip on from Epic Cosplay, which are currently (and… perpetually, apparently) on sale for about $10, and always ship free. A way to apply heat to the fiber (hot glue gun, hair dryer, straightener, or heat gun - or, as I used, all of the above, haha), and some spare time and voila, custom dread clip!

As far as the red peplum Zara: this is one of my favorites from ebay. Target actually has a good alt in the stores (or did, like… two weekends ago when we were leaving for NYCC!) but I can’t find it on their website (BOO). I searched for burgundy peplum dress on Poshmark and found some decent results, but they’re all one-size per dress, so it’s hard to suggest ‘em. I’ve yet to find any alt that has the same peplum as the Zara - starting at the hips and extending around to the back zipper. (The SA dress also has a REALLY low back, if you’re looking for utmost accuracy. Like. SO LOW.)

I, uh, may have used an old jacket and some scrap leather to make an alt to the Kooples Parka from Flatline over the last twenty minutes and may be wearing it to the PARF today, I don’t have a last minute cosplay problem I swear.

Yay! My Anthropologie Ruffled Henley came in - no surprise, it’s another Cosima piece, gasp gasp - and it’s adorable and super comfy. (It seems to run to size - I’m wearing a small and it’s appropriately loose.)

Bonus content? In both pictures and especially the second, you can see my weird blonde streak. It’s in one of my underlayers of hair, so not usually visible, but it’s quite inexplicably  there—it started growing some time during college. Did my sister curse me with secret ice powers? Was I just channeling Sarah Manning a decade early? THE WORLD MAY NEVER KNOW.

I’ve been ebay searching for Cosima things I don’t yet have, and in the last few days have found several things I already have - apparently, I am on a roll recently wrt Clone Cosplay. I dunno, is there anyone out there looking for something specific that wants me to shoot them links if I find it?

Ah you've been so helpful finding Cosima outfits I just wanted to say thank youuu <3 And I want to see your cosplay when you get your stuff!

Thank you! cloneclothes has really quickly become one of my favorite blogs and has been indispensable in my growing need to get All The Cosima Things, so I’m 10000% glad to be able to help!

And I will definitely, definitely be posting lots of shots of my stuff when it arrives! I may be planning a far too exhaustive page of all my OB stuff what am I even doing.
